MANILA, Philippines—Communities affected by Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international codename: Ketsana) in Bulacan province, Pasig City and Quezon City were the recipients of relief goods distributed by Inquirer volunteers over the past two days.
The Inquirer Ondoy Relief Drive, which began last week, continues to receive donations in cash and kind from Good Samaritans.
Relief packs were distributed to 300 families in Mercedes Executive Village in Pasig Wednesday, while 400 families in Meycauayan, Bulacan, and 200 families on Roosevelt Avenue, Quezon City, received donations on Tuesday.
The Inquirer drive also gave 500 relief packs to CBCP-Caritas Philippines on Tuesday, for distribution to families in the Diocese of San Pablo, Laguna.
Since Sept. 29, the relief drive has distributed relief packages to more than 7,000 families.
The Inquirer is grateful to those who have continued sending their donations for the relief drive.
New donors include Upsilon Sigma Phi/Sigma Delta Phi, Menzi Trust Fund, Alba Romeo and Co., Feliciano de la Cruz and family and Joy Collera.
Relief missions are scheduled in the coming days in Baliwag, Bulacan; Bagong Silangan, Quezon City; and Nangka, Marikina.
Due to the big number of communities that still need help, the Inquirer Ondoy Relief Drive will continue accepting donations and distribute them this weekend and next week.
Donors may send relief goods to the Inquirer’s main office at 1098 Chino Roces Ave., Makati. Goods may also be dropped off on weekdays at the following Inquirer classified ad branches: G/F Atrium Bldg. on Makati Avenue in Makati; 5/F Bldg. B, SM Megamall on Edsa in Mandaluyong; G/F Trinity Bldg. on Kalaw Avenue in Manila; and St. Anthony’s Bldg. on Aurora Blvd. in Cubao, Quezon City.
Also accepting donations to the Inquirer Ondoy Relief Drive are all McDonald’s and PSBank branches in Metro Manila, as well as Cebuana Lhuillier branches on Quirino Avenue, Baclaran and Dr. A. Santos, Lopez on Sucat Road in Parañaque and the RFM relief center on Pioneer Street in Mandaluyong.
Cash donations
Monetary contributions may be deposited with PSBank Account No. 111-112002660 for peso deposits and PSBank Account No. 111-132000158 for dollar deposits under the account name “Inquirer Ondoy Relief Drive.”
PSBank has opened more options for Filipino donors abroad by availing themselves of free fund transfers online at www.psbank.com.ph
Along with Metrobank and partner remittance agency iRemit, PSBank has waived transaction fees for donations until Oct. 15.
