"The misconfiguration of CF cards is a serious error of SMARMARTIC and COMELEC which can disenfranchise millions of voters," said Mr. Rick Bahague, National Coordinator of the Computer Professionals' Union. "These are very important data thus any misconfiguration is unacceptable," added Mr. Bahague.
ICT Community to Hold National Conference on Election Monitoring

Cellphone jammers should not excuse the COMELEC for its lack of readiness
“COMELEC is just using the recent shipment of cell phone jammers as an excuse for its lack of readiness for the Automated Elections in 2010,” said Mr. Rick Bahague, the National Coordinator of the Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU).

The Computer Professionals’ Union represented the Philippines’ pioneer consumer protection organization TXTPower in the Southeast Asian Consumer Council’s recently held regional conference in Thailand. TXTPower was instrumental to the formulation of the Chiang Rai Declaration on Consumer Protection in Telecommunications, officially announced on July 30, 2009.
